{"id":256596,"date":"2024-11-27T16:13:23","date_gmt":"2024-11-27T16:13:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/27\/intensify-collaborations-to-tackle-violence-against-women\/"},"modified":"2024-11-27T16:13:23","modified_gmt":"2024-11-27T16:13:23","slug":"intensify-collaborations-to-tackle-violence-against-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/27\/intensify-collaborations-to-tackle-violence-against-women\/","title":{"rendered":"Intensify collaborations to tackle violence against women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Madam Sheila Minka-Premo, the Founding Consultant at Apex Lawconsult, has made a passionate appeal for the stringent enforcement of Ghana\u2019s laws to combat gender-based violence effectively.<\/p>\n<p>She made these remarks during the Women Speak event, a programme organised by the European Union in Ghana on Wednesday, November 27, to address violence against women.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking under the theme \u2018Beyond Beijing+30: Addressing Gender-Based Violence and Promoting Women\u2019s Rights,\u2019 Madam Sheila emphasised the pressing need for collaborative approaches to tackle the persistent acts of violence against women and girls.<\/p>\n<p>In her keynote address, Madam Sheila Minka-Premo underscored the gravity of gender-based violence and its far-reaching consequences on individuals, families, and society at large.<\/p>\n<p>She stressed the need to confront the root causes of gender-based violence, which she noted are deeply embedded in societal structures and norms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is the need to address the root causes of gender-based violence.
