{"id":256110,"date":"2024-11-26T21:13:43","date_gmt":"2024-11-26T21:13:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/26\/questioning-kufuors-support-for-bawumia-is-the-height-of-impunity-hackman-to-alan\/"},"modified":"2024-11-26T21:13:43","modified_gmt":"2024-11-26T21:13:43","slug":"questioning-kufuors-support-for-bawumia-is-the-height-of-impunity-hackman-to-alan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/26\/questioning-kufuors-support-for-bawumia-is-the-height-of-impunity-hackman-to-alan\/","title":{"rendered":"Questioning Kufuor&#8217;s support for Bawumia is the height of impunity \u2013 Hackman to Alan"},"content":{"rendered":"<br><div id=\"article-text\">\n                       \n                        \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party&#8217;s (NPP) Council of Elders, Hackman Owusu Agyeman, has issued a strong rebuke to Movement for Change presidential candidate Alan Kyerematen over his remarks about former President John Agyekum Kufuor&#8217;s endorsement of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr Kufuor called on Ghanaians to support NPP flagbearer, Dr Bawumia in the December 7 general elections, describing him as the most suitable candidate to lead the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The former President emphasised that, given the current global circumstances, he believes Bawumia\u2019s presidency could significantly improve Ghana\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Read also: Alan slams Kufuor\u2019s endorsement of Bawumia, says he\u2019s venturing into dangerous territory<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the Movement for Change leader criticised former President Kufuor for openly supporting Dr Bawumia, arguing that such endorsements compromise the neutrality expected of a statesman of Kufuor&#8217;s stature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking on Oyerepa TV, he suggested that the former president&#8217;s actions risk tarnishing his political legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, Mr Owusu Agyeman speaking in an interview on <strong>JoyNews<\/strong>\u2019 PM Express on Monday while discussing how the NPP will break the eight, did not hold back when reacting to the one-time presidential choice of former President Kufour in 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He described Mr Kyerematen\u2019s comments as disrespectful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor me, it is the height of impunity to ask what Bawumia has done and why Kufuor is supporting him.
