{"id":255922,"date":"2024-11-26T15:00:04","date_gmt":"2024-11-26T15:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/26\/we-are-satisfied-with-progress-of-northshore-apparel-ghana-project\/"},"modified":"2024-11-26T15:00:04","modified_gmt":"2024-11-26T15:00:04","slug":"we-are-satisfied-with-progress-of-northshore-apparel-ghana-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/26\/we-are-satisfied-with-progress-of-northshore-apparel-ghana-project\/","title":{"rendered":"We are satisfied with progress of Northshore Apparel Ghana Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"article-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghanaweb.com\/imagelib\/pics\/342\/34230144.295.jpg\" alt=\"The Northshore Apparel Ghana Project is expected to create a minimum of 2,000 direct jobs\" title=\"The Northshore Apparel Ghana Project is expected to create a minimum of 2,000 direct jobs\" width=\"295\" height=\"167\" \/> <span class=\"image_caption\"><span>The Northshore Apparel Ghana Project is expected to create a minimum of 2,000 direct jobs<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"-webkit-user-select: none; -webkit-touch-callout: none; -moz-user-select: none; -ms-user-select: none; user-select: none;\">\n<p id=\"article-123\">The Managing Director of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) PLC, Alhaji Alhassan Yakubu-Tali, has expressed excitement and satisfaction about the progress of the Northshore Apparel Manufacturing Project currently ongoing at Savelugu in the Northern Region.<\/p>\n<p>The construction of phase I of the project, which was launched in February of this year, is progressing steadily and is currently about 60% complete. <\/p>\n<p>This phase includes a 5,000-square-meter sewing production shed containing 50 sewing lines, 73 disability-friendly washrooms, a laundry facility, and office spaces on the mezzanine floor. <\/p>\n<p>It also includes a 200-cubic anaerobic biodigester, a power and maintenance building, security, a clinic, a cr\u00e8che, and locker rooms.<\/p>\n<p>Alhaji Alhassan Yabuku-Tali, who was on a working visit to the Northern Region, expressed optimism that the project, which is a large-scale textile manufacturing facility, will achieve its objective of creating thousands of jobs for the teeming youth and the vulnerable within the northern sector. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very excited and satisfied about the progress of this project (the Northshore Apparel Project)\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I came here (the site) in February for the groundbreaking ceremony to commence construction of the project, I reiterated ADB\u2019s pledge to support this important legacy project, and the level of progress today underscores the commitment of all the stakeholders involved,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The MD emphasised that establishing a major manufacturing facility in the northern region will not only facilitate industrialisation in Northern Ghana but also represent a substantial source of employment opportunities for the youth and the vulnerable to create wealth for themselves and the nation.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghanaweb.com\/imagelib\/pics\/513\/51343497.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He indicated that ADB will continue to support projects such as the Northshore Apparel Manufacturing to help expand the manufacturing sector in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The project manager overseeing the execution of the project, Ing. Prosper Hayford Tsey, who took the Managing Director and his team around the project, indicated that the project was about 60% completed.<\/p>\n<p>The co-founder of Northshore Apparel Gh. Ltd, Mohammed Nurideen, expressed his appreciation for the visit by the ADB Managing Director. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very excited for your (ADB MD) visit to ascertain the level of progress of the project. Your visit shows the level of ADB\u2019s commitment as a key partner to facilitate the completion and commencement of operations of this facility.\u201d Mr. Nurideen said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghanaweb.com\/imagelib\/pics\/122\/12218127.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He further assured ADB and other key partners that with the required funding on schedule, the project would be completed in time.   <\/p>\n<p>The Northshore Apparel Ghana Project is funded by the Agricultural Development Bank PLC with counterpart funding from the facility Investing for Employment (IFE) of KfW Development Bank. <\/p>\n<p>It is part of the Special Initiative \u201cDecent Work for a Just Transition\u201d of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).<\/p>\n<p>The Northshore Apparel Ghana Project is expected to create a minimum of 2,000 direct jobs, as well as several indirect jobs.
