The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has criticized the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) for its conclusion that there was no conflict of interest in financial transactions involving the National Cathedral Secretariat and JNS Talent Centre Limited, a company linked to Rev. Kusi Boateng.<\/p>\n
Ablakwa raised concerns about a GH\u00a22.6 million payment made by the Secretariat to JNS Talent Centre, which is associated with Rev. Kusi Boateng, who also goes by the name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.<\/p>\n
In his petition, Ablakwa alleged impropriety and conflict of interest in the transaction.<\/p>\n
CHRAJ\u2019s investigation found that JNS Talent Centre provided no services for the payment but deemed it a reimbursement to Rev. Kusi Boateng for advancing funds to contractors during the Secretariat\u2019s financial difficulties. The Commission concluded there was no wrongdoing or conflict of interest.<\/p>\n
Speaking on Eyewitness News<\/em> on Monday, November 25, 2024, Ablakwa described CHRAJ\u2019s findings as \u201cbizarre\u201d and questioned the rationale behind the decision.<\/p>\n \u201cDespite the shocking levels and the lack of records, CHRAJ still manages to conclude that there is no conflict of interest and even says that the only document Kusi Boateng\/ Kwabena Adu Gyamfi produced came after the money had already been released.<\/p>\n \u201cYet CHRAJ manages to say that there is no conflict of interest. I find that really bizarre and I don\u2019t see how CHRAJ really held its credibility to come to this conclusion,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n Additionally, CHRAJ recommended a forensic audit of the National Cathedral project and a possible prosecution of its trustees, following an investigation into alleged corruption and abuse of power.<\/p>\n CHRAJ clears Rev.
