Air Commodore David Akrong, Deputy Commandant of the Kofi Annan International Peace Training Centre (KAIPTC), has reiterated the institution\u2019s dedication to curbing electoral fraud, voter intimidation, and vote-buying as Ghana approaches the 2024 general elections.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a training programme organized by KAIPTC in Kumasi on November 25, under the theme \u201cGhana\u2019s 2024 Elections: Enhancing the Capacity of Women and Youth in Elections,\u201d<\/em> Air Cdre Akrong highlighted the Centre\u2019s proactive initiatives.<\/p>\n

He explained that KAIPTC is equipping women and youth as election observers to help uphold the credibility and transparency of the electoral process.<\/p>\n

The training forms part of broader efforts to ensure a peaceful and fair election while empowering underrepresented groups to play active roles in democratic governance.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important to know that election observers play a vital role in detecting and preventing election fraud, such as ballot stuffing, and voter intimidation. By reporting irregulates and inconsistencies we can help ensure the integrity of the electoral process.<\/p>\n
