By alleviating the pressure on our road network, we will extend the lifeline of critical routes, including those along the eastern corridor, while simultaneously lowering the cost of transporting bulk goods, agricultural produce, and containers, thereby enhancing business competitiveness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032643693 lazyload ewww_webp_lazy_load\" style=\"width:831px;height:auto\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/commissioned-train-1.jpg\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" data-eio-rwidth=\"640\" data-eio-rheight=\"360\" src-webp=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/commissioned-train-1.jpg.webp\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/commissioned-train-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032643693\" style=\"width:831px;height:auto\" data-eio=\"l\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It will offer a reliable and cost-effective transportation alternative for passengers in areas currently underserved by road networks, ensuring greater accessibility and convenience,&#8221; he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is expected to facilitate the seamless movement of goods such as fuel, cement, and agricultural produce while boosting port competitiveness by minimising vessel waiting times and improving cargo handling efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Akufo-Addo reiterated his administration\u2019s commitment to expanding Ghana\u2019s railway network, guided by the revised 2020 Railway Master Plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Tema-Mpakadan Railway Line is just one piece of a larger puzzle.
