But her vibrant life slowed on October 31, 2024, when what seemed like a simple cold and headache escalated into the unimaginable.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLisa went for career day at school, and then my mother was called by the school authority that Lisa was complaining of body pains. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;On 1<sup>st<\/sup> November 1, 2024, she was taken to the hospital for treatment for common cold and malaria, but upon close examination by the physicians, we were told they were going to admit her.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Georgia Golightly Thompson further told JoyNews\u2019 Emmanuel Dzivenu, \u201cLater, I was called for counselling at the hospital. I was very alarmed, and I was devastated when the news was broken to me that Lisa had been diagnosed with stage 4 leukaemia, which happens to be cancer of the blood and bone marrow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032642300 lazyload ewww_webp_lazy_load\" src=\"http:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/LISA-LARYEA-LEUKEMIA-5.jpg\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" data-eio-rwidth=\"800\" data-eio-rheight=\"450\" src-webp=\"http:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/LISA-LARYEA-LEUKEMIA-5.jpg.webp\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/LISA-LARYEA-LEUKEMIA-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032642300\" data-eio=\"l\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her condition requires urgent treatment, including a bone marrow transplant in South Africa. The cost? A staggering $100,000. For Lisa\u2019s family, raising this amount seemed impossible.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI had started selling my assets, and it wasn\u2019t getting anywhere. I had sold my little plot of land I had, but it still didn\u2019t amount to anything,\u201d Lisa\u2019s mom indicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032642302 lazyload ewww_webp_lazy_load\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/RAFIK-MAHAMA-IBRAHIM-MAHAMAS-AIDE.jpg\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" data-eio-rwidth=\"800\" data-eio-rheight=\"450\" src-webp=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/RAFIK-MAHAMA-IBRAHIM-MAHAMAS-AIDE.jpg.webp\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/RAFIK-MAHAMA-IBRAHIM-MAHAMAS-AIDE.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032642302\" data-eio=\"l\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Desperation drove the family to social media, where they shared Lisa\u2019s story in a heartfelt plea for help. He gives those instructions that whatever it takes to save the person\u2019s life, you go ahead and do it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;So that\u2019s why we didn\u2019t look at the cost of it but made sure we got Lisa to South Africa and for her to go through the procedure. The family is optimistic that this is the turning point in their young daughter\u2019s battle against cancer.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, Lisa\u2019s journey is far from over, but her family is no longer fighting alone.
