Benjamin Arthur (right) in a handshake after signing the agreement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Government has reached an agreement with the Senior Staff Association \u2013 Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG) regarding their condition of service.<\/p>\n<p>The milestone was achieved after a lengthy negotiation session which begun on August, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> 2023.<\/p>\n<p>At the final negotiation meeting on November 12, 2024, the leaders of the association signed an agreement with the government team, led by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, (FWSC).<\/p>\n<p>National Chairman of the association, George Ansong, expressed gratitude to the members of the association for their patience and dedication throughout the process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have not gotten everything we wanted, but we have made significant progress,\u201d he acknowledged. \u201cWe live to fight again, and we appreciate the support and input from our team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On behalf of the association, Mr. Ansong commended the government for finally reaching an agreement with the Association.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re grateful for the government\u2019s willingness to listen to our concerns. We\u2019re not just fighting for our rights; we are fighting for the future of our universities,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised, \u201cthis agreement is just the beginning. We\u2019ll continue to work together to address the outstanding issues.<\/p>\n<p>The FWSC Chief Executive, Ing. Benjamin Arthur, commended the association\u2019s resilience and perseverance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have come to a compromise, and we pray that the implementation will be smoother than the negotiation. We know it hasn\u2019t been easy, but we\u2019re committed to making progress,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted the need for dialogue and urged the leadership of the association to work closely with the government to facilitate a smooth implementation process to ensure that every member of the association benefits from the agreement.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Daily Guide Report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- CONTENT END 2 -->\n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>George Ansong (left) and Ing.
