\n\t\t\t\t\tThe Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central, Murtala Mohammed, says his constituents have asked him not to return if the House is called back.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tSpeaking recently during a campaign tour in the Ellembelle constituency of the Western Region, the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, instructed the party\u2019s Members of Parliament to boycott any emergency recall of the House.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tCommenting on the party chairman\u2019s directive on JoyNews\u2019 AM Show<\/em>,<\/strong> Mr. Murtala said his constituents \u201cthink\u201d Mr. Nketia\u2019s directive should be adhered to.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\u201cI can tell you that if you were to take the position of the people of Tamale Central, overwhelmingly, they think we shouldn\u2019t even go back to Parliament. They think we shouldn\u2019t,\u201d he said.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\tHe added, \u201cI belong to a party and I represent a constituency. I came with the decision of the party, and the people of Tamale Central overwhelmingly agreed with that viewpoint. Therefore, whatever the party decides is certainly what the majority of the people of Tamale Central would agree with.\u201d\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\tFollowing the Supreme Court\u2019s ruling on the vacant seats case last week, it is uncertain when Parliament will be recalled.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe much-discussed vacant seats case arose between the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, and the Majority Leader of the House, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, after the Speaker declared four seats vacant due to the decision of the MPs to run as independent candidates in the December polls.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
