{"id":251270,"date":"2024-11-15T09:06:19","date_gmt":"2024-11-15T09:06:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/15\/guta-settles-dispute-with-gra-over-tax-compliance\/"},"modified":"2024-11-15T09:06:19","modified_gmt":"2024-11-15T09:06:19","slug":"guta-settles-dispute-with-gra-over-tax-compliance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/15\/guta-settles-dispute-with-gra-over-tax-compliance\/","title":{"rendered":"GUTA settles dispute with GRA over tax compliance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) has indicated that it has resolved issues regarding the harassment of traders over taxes.<\/p>\n<p>The Ghana Revenue Authority, in its bid to recoup revenue from traders, stationed its officers in traders\u2019 shops to monitor sales and tax invoices.<\/p>\n<p>This issue has been a major concern to stakeholders, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the media at a stakeholder engagement in Accra on November 14, GUTA\u2019s Vice President, Clement Boateng, noted that matters have been settled, and they believe that any political party that wins the 2024 elections will implement a robust tax system to ease pressure on the economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll the flag bearers have told us that whoever assumes power will make sure the tax regime is structured for fair competition between the businesses for our industry.
