This is a 10.25% increment compared to the 17,027,641 registered voters in the 2020 election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe title=\"2024 ELECTION: TOTAL VALID VOTERS\" aria-label=\"Column Chart\" id=\"datawrapper-chart-qn2ff\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"width: 0; min-width: 100% !important; border: none;\" height=\"458\" data-external=\"1\" data-src=\"https:\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/qn2ff\/1\/\" class=\"lazyload\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>BREAKDOWN OF REGISTERED VOTERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The total registered voters are made up of voters on the biometric registers, special voters, and voters without biometric data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Voters with Biometric Data:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are voters who will be biometrically verified on Election Day. The number stands at <strong>18,640,811. <\/strong>This is 99.29% of the total valid voters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10031712931 lazyload\" src=\"http:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/1-1-3.jpg\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" data-eio-rwidth=\"800\" data-eio-rheight=\"533\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/1-1-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10031712931\" data-eio=\"l\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Election 2020<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Special Voters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The special voters are voters who have special duties on election day and, with that, are allowed by law to vote earlier than the election day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They include security agencies, media personnel, and EC officials. The total number of special voters, according to the commission, is 131,478. This is a 19.9% increment compared to the 109,577 special voters in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Voters without Biometric Data<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are voters who registered but have their biometric data corrupted for some reason according to the EC. They will be manually verified on election day. The number stands at <strong>1,870.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe title=\"2024 ELECTIONS: BREAKDOWN OF TOTAL VALID VOTERS\" aria-label=\"Split Bars\" id=\"datawrapper-chart-ahkCU\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"width: 0; min-width: 100% !important; border: none;\" height=\"238\" data-external=\"1\" data-src=\"https:\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/ahkCU\/1\/\" class=\"lazyload\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Absent voters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Absent voters are individuals who are eligible to vote but are unable to be physically present at their designated polling place on election day. These voters typically utilize alternative voting methods to ensure their participation in the electoral process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Electoral Commission of Ghana, the absent voters are made up of special voters and transferred voters. However, according to the EC, some 884 voters are excluded from the Absent Voters list. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is because no register was generated for their polling stations. \u00a0These polling stations were administratively closed because they did not either meet the minimum voter threshold required for operation or because local communities requested the Commission to close them for legitimate reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voters from these closed stations were transferred to other polling stations. With this, the total absent voters are special and transfer voters, excluding the 884 voters from the closed polling stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032637131 lazyload ewww_webp_lazy_load\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/ABSENT-VOTERS.jpg\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" data-eio-rwidth=\"800\" data-eio-rheight=\"450\" src-webp=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/ABSENT-VOTERS.jpg.webp\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/ABSENT-VOTERS.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032637131\" data-eio=\"l\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Exceptions List<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This includes individuals who have been flagged for some irregularity or issue concerning their eligibility to vote. This list is often used to identify and resolve potential problems before, during, or after the voting process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Being on an exceptions list does not necessarily mean a person is ineligible to vote; it simply indicates that there is an issue that needs to be addressed.
