{"id":250115,"date":"2024-11-13T10:47:14","date_gmt":"2024-11-13T10:47:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/13\/ecs-special-voting-strategy-raises-alarm-bells-and-red-flags\/"},"modified":"2024-11-13T10:47:14","modified_gmt":"2024-11-13T10:47:14","slug":"ecs-special-voting-strategy-raises-alarm-bells-and-red-flags","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/13\/ecs-special-voting-strategy-raises-alarm-bells-and-red-flags\/","title":{"rendered":"EC\u2019s Special Voting Strategy Raises \u2018Alarm Bells And Red Flags\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The National Democratic Congress (NDC) \u2018s Director of Elections and IT, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of attempting to manipulate the 2024 elections during the special voting process scheduled for December.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing teeming NDC sympathizers at Akroso in the Eastern region, Dr. Omane Boamah urged the party\u2019s base to closely monitor the \u2018special\u2019 voting process to avert any attempt by the NPP to manipulate the elections.<\/p>\n<p>The former Communications minister assured the party\u2019s preparedness to protect the electorates\u2019 votes, stating that the party will collate at least 75 percent of the presidential results by 11 p.m. on December 7.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NDC bans 4 companies printing 2024 ballot papers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Recently, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, vowed he would strongly resist any attempt to manipulate the upcoming elections through ballot printing irregularities.<\/p>\n<p>He accused the Electoral Commission (EC) of printing extra ballots during the 2020 election and alleging that the surplus ballot papers were distributed to agents of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).<\/p>\n<p>Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the NDC\u2019s Director of Elections and IT, also raised serious concerns over the EC\u2019s \u201cill-preparation\u201d for the upcoming elections on December 7.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed to numerous issues affecting contracted ballot printing companies, including delays, contract cancellations, and quality control issues across multiple printing companies, including YASARKO Printing, Checkpoint Printing, FONSTAT Printing, and the state-owned Ghana Publishing Company, calling into question the EC\u2019s readiness for a smooth election process.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Democratic Congress (NDC) \u2018s Director of Elections and IT, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of attempting to manipulate the 2024 elections during the special voting process scheduled for December.
