{"id":249105,"date":"2024-11-11T17:09:50","date_gmt":"2024-11-11T17:09:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/11\/vacant-seats-speaker-has-been-fair-to-npp-mps-bole-bamboi-mp\/"},"modified":"2024-11-11T17:09:50","modified_gmt":"2024-11-11T17:09:50","slug":"vacant-seats-speaker-has-been-fair-to-npp-mps-bole-bamboi-mp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/11\/vacant-seats-speaker-has-been-fair-to-npp-mps-bole-bamboi-mp\/","title":{"rendered":"Vacant seats: Speaker has been fair to NPP MPs \u2013 Bole-Bamboi MP"},"content":{"rendered":"<br><div id=\"article-text\">\n                       \n                        \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Member of Parliament (MP) for Bole-Bamboi, Yusif Sulemana says the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has been fair to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) legislators in the wake of the seats controversy in the House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parliament has not conducted business over the past three weeks due to the ongoing legal case between the Speaker and &#8220;Majority&#8221; Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin at the Supreme Court regarding the declaration of the four Parliamentary seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After Monday&#8217;s hearing, Mr Afenyo-Markin claimed that the Speaker was deliberately treating NPP MPs unfairly in relation to the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the NDC Member of Parliament (MP) for Bole-Bamboi, Yusif Sulemana disagrees with Mr Afenyo-Markin, stating that the Speaker has done nothing wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI rather think that the Speaker has been very, very fair to them, and some of us believe that the Speaker is treating them with kid gloves,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added, \u201cThe way he [the Speaker] is tolerating them, the way he is relating with them, to some extent we feel that he even bends the rules in order to accommodate them.
