{"id":248290,"date":"2024-11-08T20:06:50","date_gmt":"2024-11-08T20:06:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/08\/npp-govt-hasnt-failed-weve-managed-economy-better\/"},"modified":"2024-11-08T20:06:50","modified_gmt":"2024-11-08T20:06:50","slug":"npp-govt-hasnt-failed-weve-managed-economy-better","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/11\/08\/npp-govt-hasnt-failed-weve-managed-economy-better\/","title":{"rendered":"NPP govt hasn&#8217;t failed, We&#8217;ve managed economy better"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Frederick Opare-Ansah, Campaign Manager for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia\u2019s team, has defended the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government\u2019s economic performance, stating that it has not failed in managing the economy despite significant challenges.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview on Eyewitness News on Citi FM on Friday, November 8, Opare-Ansah emphasized the resilience of the current administration amid global pressures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe [NPP] haven\u2019t failed in any single one of those points,\u201d he remarked, urging Ghanaians to consider what the economic situation might have looked like if former President John Mahama had remained in power.<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on Mahama\u2019s tenure, Opare-Ansah noted that the economy experienced an annual growth rate of 8.8% from 2012 but dropped to 3.4% by the end of Mahama\u2019s term in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen there was no challenge at all from 2012 to 2017 when he took over from Atta-Mills the economy was growing at 8.8%.
