Divine Kutortse, an Enterprise Development and Trade Finance Specialist at the National AFCTA Coordinating Office has asserted that technology has evolved from a luxury into an essential tool for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana.<\/p>\n Addressing a gathering of entrepreneurs, business leaders, and policymakers, Kutortse highlighted how emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, digital payments, and e-commerce platforms, are key to Ghana’s future economic success.<\/p>\n \u201cTechnology isn\u2019t just a luxury anymore; it is a necessity,\u201d he asserted during a recent CBG Thought Leadership Conference in Accra.<\/p>\n According to Kutortse, adopting digital tools is crucial for Ghanaian SMEs to reach new markets, enhance efficiency, and succeed under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).<\/p>\n He noted that the AfCFTA offers Ghana unprecedented opportunities, including access to a larger African market, potential job creation, and positioning the nation as a leader in African trade integration.<\/p>\n Kutortse underscored the significance of the AfCFTA Protocol on Digital Trade, which is designed to integrate technology into cross-border trade processes.<\/p>\n This framework, he explained, will allow SMEs to operate more efficiently and connect seamlessly with markets across Africa.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not enough to just have the technology.
