Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum has expressed disappointment following the team’s first loss of the Ghana Premier League season thus a 2-1 defeat to Legon Cities on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

The loss ended Kotoko’s unbeaten run and highlighted ongoing challenges with goalscoring, as the team has managed just one goal per game this season.

Reflecting on the performance, Ogum admitted it had been a challenging week for the Porcupine Warriors, especially in terms of the second-half play.

“Not the best of weeks, especially the way we played the second half. It shouldn’t have happened, and we just have to put ourselves together and move on,” Ogum stated.

He added that losses to less-fancied opponents are common, underscoring his belief in the team’s resilience.

Despite equalizing through Albert Amoah in the 76th minute, Kotoko’s defense faltered in stoppage time, allowing Legon Cities’ Abdul Rahman to seal the win.

The defeat has intensified Kotoko’s focus on improving their finishing, a concern Ogum addressed earlier, noting the importance of converting chances created.

Kotoko, currently second in the standings, will be seeking to regroup as they prepare to host Hearts of Lions on November 3, 2024, aiming to bounce back and keep their title pursuit on track.

Watch the latest edition of Weekend Sports Recap below:

!["Kotoko]("https://cdn.ghanaweb.com/imagelib/pics/562/56241422.295.jpg" ""Kotoko")
