{"id":242764,"date":"2024-10-31T12:06:09","date_gmt":"2024-10-31T12:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/10\/31\/selected-journalists-trained-on-community-scorecard-for-universal-health-coverage\/"},"modified":"2024-10-31T12:06:09","modified_gmt":"2024-10-31T12:06:09","slug":"selected-journalists-trained-on-community-scorecard-for-universal-health-coverage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/10\/31\/selected-journalists-trained-on-community-scorecard-for-universal-health-coverage\/","title":{"rendered":"Selected journalists trained on community scorecard for Universal Health Coverage"},"content":{"rendered":"<br><div id=\"article-text\">\n                       \n                        \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a significant move to support Ghana&#8217;s journey toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC), a cohort of journalists from across the country\u2019s 16 regions is being trained under the theme &#8220;Effective Use of the Media to Scale Up Universal Health Coverage.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Organized by the African Media and Malaria Research Network (AMMREN) in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service, African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA), and the Ministry of Health, the training aims to empower journalists to become critical advocates for quality healthcare. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative is funded by Expertise France under its ongoing Community Scorecard (CSC) project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Community Scorecard (CSC) is a participatory tool that allows communities to assess healthcare services in their regions, with the goal of improving accountability and service delivery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032629302 lazyload ewww_webp_lazy_load\" src=\"http:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-10-29-at-14.26.14-1.jpeg\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"447\" data-eio-rwidth=\"800\" data-eio-rheight=\"447\" src-webp=\"http:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-10-29-at-14.26.14-1.jpeg.webp\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-10-29-at-14.26.14-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032629302\" data-eio=\"l\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the workshop, the selected journalists will be equipped with the skills necessary to use scorecard data effectively to hold policymakers and healthcare duty bearers accountable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Mrs. Charity Binka, Executive Director of AMMREN, highlighted the critical role of the media in health advocacy.
