The tricycle business in Ghana has quickly become a major source of employment for many young people. However, it has not been immune to the harsh economic conditions that have plagued the country.<\/p>\n

The riders have mentioned that it has been a significant source of income for those involved in the business. When asked about their daily earnings, they noted that it varied depending on the day.<\/p>\n

In a special report with GhanaWeb Business, one rider said: “We prefer not to disclose the exact amount we make because sometimes it causes issues with the car owners. On good days, I can make around GH\u00a2300, GH\u00a2350, or GH\u00a2400.”<\/p>\n

They also highlighted that the price of rides has more than doubled over the past four years. A tricycle that was sold for GH\u00a29,200 in 2020 is now being sold for GH\u00a226,000, according to a rider interviewed by GhanaWeb TV.<\/p>\n

He explained, “I purchased it for GH\u00a29,200 in 2020, and now it\u2019s GH\u00a226,000. Some days, I make around GH\u00a2250, GH\u00a2300, or GH\u00a2400 in sales, depending on the day.”<\/p>\n
