Retired English footballer Troy Deeney has heaped praise on Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey for his excellent performances in the 2024/2025 English Premier League season.

He stated that Partey’s versatility has been useful to Arsenal this season, particularly when he played in the right wing-back position against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

Deeney commended the Black Stars midfielder for staying focused on his football and delivering for the club despite the team wanting to sell him in the summer transfer window ahead of the season.

“I’m having Thomas Partey at right wing-back. He is the guy who is probably one of the Arsenal players they were looking to move on from in the summer, but he steps in and every time they ask him to play right-back, he does a good job and doesn’t let the team down. He is the type of person you’d be really grateful for in your team,” he said, as shared by Arsenal News Channel on X.

Thomas Partey played at the right wing-back position for Arsenal in their game against Liverpool, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Football pundits and fans lauded the midfielder for his remarkable performance despite playing in an unusual position.

Following the drawn game, the Gunners’ title hopes are still on track as they lie third on the league table with 18 points, with Manchester City leading the with 23 points.
