Ghanaian footballer Mohammed Kudus suffered his first red card in English football after receiving his marching orders in West Ham United’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

The forward was given a straight red for violent conduct after punching Brennan Johnson and Pape Matar Sarr in the 86th minute.

The scuffle, which ended with a red card, means that Mohammed Kudus will miss West Ham’s games against Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, and Everton.

Kudus gave West Ham a dream start to the game after he connected with a Jarrod Bowen cross from the right.

Tottenham found the equalizer through Dejan Kulusevski with an assist from James Maddison.

After the break, Yves Bissouma gave Tottenham the lead by connecting to a pass from Italian fullback Destiny Udogie.

An own goal from Alphonse Areola and a goal from Son completed the trouncing for West Ham.

Meanwhile, former Premier League referee Mike Dean believes that Kudus could suffer further match bans for the scuffle.

Former Premier League referee Mike Dean commented:

“When you look at the footage, he could have been sent off for the first incident alone.”

Dean further suggested that the FA could extend Kudus’ suspension.

“Because he hit two different players in the face, I think the FA will act on both [and the suspension extended],” Dean explained.

Mohamed Kudus you absolute beauty pic.twitter.com/uj2utUXkFp

— 𝑪𝑯𝑹𝑰𝑺 (@Rockoldcfc) October 19, 2024

Ghanaians react to Black Stars’ 2-0 defeat to Sudan

!["Kudus]("https://cdn.ghanaweb.com/imagelib/pics/551/55152692.295.jpg" ""Kudus")
