She shared that treatment options, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery, can be both costly and physically taxing. By promoting awareness in rural areas, Ms. Sambou aims to prevent late-stage diagnoses that often lead to more aggressive and expensive treatments.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign also seeks to dispel persistent misconceptions surrounding breast cancer in these communities. \u201cWe need to support our loved ones battling breast cancer instead of isolating them,\u201d she urged.<\/p>\n<p>Having begun her campaign in Tomefa, a fishing community in the Ga South Municipality, Ms. Sambou plans to expand her efforts to parts of the Eastern and Central Regions. \u201cI do not want anyone to go through what I went through. We can all work together to change the narrative,\u201d she remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Sambou expressed deep concern over the devastating impact of breast cancer on families, noting that many children have been orphaned due to the disease.
