The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accepted the Electoral Commission’s (EC) promise to provide all political parties with access to the updated 2024 Provisional Voters Register for review within a week.<\/p>\n

This agreement follows the NDC’s request for a forensic investigation into the voter registration process during the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.<\/p>\n

The party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, issued a statement expressing the NDC’s satisfaction with the EC’s decision to re-display the revised Provisional Voters Register.<\/p>\n

To ensure greater accessibility, the party suggested that the re-exhibition be conducted both online and offline.<\/p>\n

“The Functional Executive Committee of the NDC has deliberated and decided to accept the EC\u2019s promise to release the corrected and updated version of the 2024 Provisional Voters Register for scrutiny within one week,” the statement read.<\/p>\n

It emphasized the need for transparency in the re-exhibition process, advocating for both digital and physical platforms to allow all eligible voters to verify their details.<\/p>\n

“We recommend that the re-exhibition exercise be conducted online and offline at the exhibition centers,” the statement noted.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the NDC called for a multi-stakeholder and inter-party examination of the EC’s IT system, citing concerns over admitted vulnerabilities that could undermine the integrity of the 2024 general elections.<\/p>\n

“Moreover, the NDC demands a multi-stakeholder and inter-party examination of the IT system of the Electoral Commission to address the vulnerabilities that the EC itself has acknowledged,” the statement said.<\/p>\n

It added: “These vulnerabilities could be exploited by criminals to compromise the integrity of the December 7, 2024, elections if not addressed.”<\/p>\n
