Andrew Kofi Cudjoe, a member of music duo, Keche, has stated why politicians shouldn\u2019t use the galamsey menace as a campaign message due to its sensitivity.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Amansan Krakye, Keche Andrew said about 10 percent of Ghanaians are into galamsey and so politicians are afraid to lose votes when they condemn the practice.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think that with the issue of galamsey our past presidents have been fighting it but I don\u2019t think it should be a campaign message to mock people because it\u2019s a sensitive field.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe number of Ghanaians who are unemployed and uneducated who feel they can\u2019t get an office work or capital to start a trade are all involved in galamsey,\u201d he disclosed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese people don\u2019t care, they just want to make money whether the water bodies are being destroyed or not so those fighting these people are scared of the ramifications.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can boldly say that about 10 percent of our population are engaged in galamsey so politicians know that they\u2019ll lose votes if they fight these galamsey people,\u201d he argued.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
