It also specifies which donations will be eligible for tax deductions.<\/p>\n<p>KRA Commissioner General Humphrey Wattanga reported that some churches and NGOs were profiting from ventures unrelated to their charitable missions.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_320043\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-320043\" style=\"width: 951px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-320043\" alt=\"\" width=\"951\" height=\"532\"  data-lazy- src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/kra-1.jpg\"\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-320043\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/kra-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"951\" height=\"532\"  \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-320043\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">KRA Commissioner General Humphrey Wattanga speaking before a Parliamentary committee session on September 17, 2024<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><em>\u201cMany tax-exempt organizations are engaging in businesses which are unrelated to charitable purposes for which they are established to undertake without ploughing back such gains to the main objectives of the organization,\u201d<\/em> Wattanga stated.<\/p>\n<p>KRA Deputy Commissioner Maurice Oray supported this view, calling for stricter regulations.
