\u201cApplying for your loan for the next academic year is straightforward. We have created this step-by-step guide to make the process even easier. Apply now,\u201d HELB stated.<\/p>\n

To apply for a HELB subsequent loan, students should follow these ten steps:<\/p>\n

  1. Download the HELB App<\/strong> from the Google Play Store and register using your Safaricom phone number to generate an activation code.<\/li>\n
  2. Create a 4-digit PIN<\/strong> that you will use to log in.<\/li>\n
  3. Confirm your personal and institutional details<\/strong> to proceed.<\/li>\n
  4. Click on \u201cApply Subsequent Products\u201d<\/strong> and swipe through the information until you reach the \u201cGet Started\u201d tab.<\/li>\n
  5. Select the loan application option<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  6. Read and understand the loan terms and conditions<\/strong> and agree to proceed.<\/li>\n
  7. Answer the financial literacy questions<\/strong> and click \u201cProceed.\u201d<\/li>\n
  8. Choose your preferred loan payment option<\/strong> and verify to proceed.<\/li>\n
  9. Click \u201cRequest Loan,\u201d<\/strong> review your loan details, then hit \u201cSubmit.\u201d<\/li>\n
  10. Upon completion,<\/strong> you will see your loan serial number both in the app and via an SMS notification, confirming your successful application.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    HELB Undergraduate & TVET Subsequent Scholarship Application via USSD<\/h5>\n

    Continuing students can also apply for loans and subsequent scholarships through USSD.<\/p>\n

    To use this method, follow these steps:<\/p>\n

    1. *Dial 642#<\/em><\/strong> and select the login option.<\/li>\n
    2. Enter your PIN<\/strong> to log in and choose the Scholarship application option.<\/li>\n
    3. Select the application level<\/strong> (Degree or Diploma & Certificate), choose the academic year, and confirm your institutional details.<\/li>\n
    4. Click \u201cSend\u201d<\/strong> to submit your application.<\/li>\n
    5. Receive a confirmation message<\/strong> with your scholarship application serial number.\"\"\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      First-Time Applicants: How to Apply for a HELB Loan<\/h5>\n

      First-time applicants should follow these steps to apply for a HELB loan:<\/p>\n

      1. Visit the HELB website<\/strong> at hef.co.ke and access the Student Portal. Click on \u201cRegister\u201d to create an account.<\/li>\n
      2. Enter your National ID number<\/strong>. If you do not have a National ID, you may use your KCSE Index number.<\/li>\n
      3. Provide a valid email address and password<\/strong> and click \u201cRegister.\u201d<\/li>\n
      4. Activate your account<\/strong> by checking your email (Inbox or Spam\/Junk folder) and follow the instructions to log in after activation.<\/li>\n
      5. Enter a valid telephone number<\/strong> where a verification code will be sent. If the code expires, click the \u201cResend\u201d button to request a new one. Note: You will need to pay Ksh1000 from your MPESA account to verify your telephone number. The application process is paperless, so no printing is required.<\/li>\n
      6. Complete your profile<\/strong> and update your Biodata.<\/li>\n
      7. Consent to the collection of your personal data<\/strong> by reading the consent form and ticking the checkbox to agree to the terms of use.<\/li>\n
