It established itself as music with a truly African identity for a new generation of Ghanaians.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1057606\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Appietus-3.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"2560\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">While hiplife legend Reggie Rockstone has insisted for years that he originated hiplife, several key personalities who contributed immensely to the genre\u2019s growth have disputed the claim.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-965386\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Reggie-Zippy-and-wife.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">But speaking on <strong>The Chat <\/strong>on<strong> Channel One TV<\/strong> \u2013 hosted by Ekow Koomson, legendary sound engineer Appiah Dankwah better known as Appietus settled the score.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">While discussing the topic of \u201cGhana\u2019s Musical Identity\u201d on the show, Appietus named Reggie Rockstone as the originator of Hiplife.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1057710\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Appietus-and-Reggie-Rockstone.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"1280\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Appietus has produced over 200 monster hit songs. The name Appietus gained prominence from his signature \u201cAppietus in the mix\u201d.
