{"id":176631,"date":"2024-04-29T17:06:14","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T17:06:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/04\/29\/arsenals-best-and-worst-players-in-north-london-derby-win\/"},"modified":"2024-04-29T17:06:14","modified_gmt":"2024-04-29T17:06:14","slug":"arsenals-best-and-worst-players-in-north-london-derby-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/04\/29\/arsenals-best-and-worst-players-in-north-london-derby-win\/","title":{"rendered":"Arsenal\u2019s best and worst players in north London derby win \u2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Despite quite a few second half scares, Arsenal managed to secure a vital three points in the race for the Premier League title on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Gunners raced into a 3-0 lead in the first half of the north London derby on Sunday, with goals from Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and an own goal from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg giving them a seemingly unassailable lead heading into half time.<\/p>\n<p>In the second half however, a mistake from David Raya which allowed Cristian Romero to make it 3-1 and a foul from Declan Rice which gifted Heung-min Son a goal from the spot to make it 3-2 heading into the final minutes of the game.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the incessant pressure from Spurs,\u00a0Arsenal\u00a0were able to hold on to an important win.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s Arsenal\u2019s best and worst players from the north London derby victory, courtesy of\u00a0<em>90min\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0esteemed player ratings:<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"_dugtfltm1\">Arsenal\u2019s best player vs Tottenham<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kai Havertz: 9\/10<\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/01hwjqw9eey3nt5s3h71.jpg\" alt=\"kai havertz\" title=\"kai havertz\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Havertz impressed \/ Chloe Knott \u2013 Danehouse\/GettyImages<\/p>\n<p>After a disappointing first few months in north London following his \u00a365m move from Chelsea, Kai Havertz has re-found his mojo in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The German followed up a stunning brace against his former club on Monday with an equally impressive outing against Tottenham on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Utilised in his preferred false nine role, Havertz caused Tottenham\u2019s backline a whole host of problems \u2013 particularly in the first half of the game. His clever pass to Bukayo Saka set up Arsenal\u2019s second, and his header at the final minutes of the first half proved to be the winning goal of the game for the Gunners.<\/p>\n<p>Havertz is, surprisingly, proving to be one of the signings of the season in the Premier League.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s not many people who\u2019d have predicted that a few months ago.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Honourable mention<\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bukayo Saka: 8\/10<\/h3>\n<p>Arsenal\u2019s \u2018Starboy\u2019 became the first English player to score 15 Premier League goals in a season for the club since Ian Wright achieved the feat in 1997.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s some pretty damn impressive stuff from Bukayo Saka.<\/p>\n<p>The wide forward was at his electric and clinical best in north London on Sunday, curling a trademark left-footed effort into the bottom corner in the first half of the game.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"_88t1idbfy\">Arsenal\u2019s worst player vs Tottenham<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">David Raya: 4\/10<\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/01hwjqx5c55xf2ftjvy6.jpg\" alt=\"David Raya\" title=\"David Raya\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Raya was poor \/ Catherine Ivill \u2013 AMA\/GettyImages<\/p>\n<p>Put simply, Tottenham do not stage a comeback in the second half if it wasn\u2019t for David Raya\u2019s egregious error in the lead up to Romero\u2019s goal.<\/p>\n<p>The goalkeeper, brought to the club by Mikel Arteta due to his ability on the ball, passed directly to Romero in the 64th minute, allowing the defender to score and give his team a shock lifeline in the game.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately Arsenal would hold on, but they can\u2019t afford for their goalkeeper to make any similar mistakes between now and the end of the season.<\/p>\n<p><!-- AI CONTENT END 1 --><\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Despite quite a few second half scares, Arsenal managed to secure a vital three points in the race for the Premier League title on Sunday.
