Brentford are expected to demand a fee in the region of at least \u00a350m, though this could yet fluctuate depending on his potential participation and performances at Euro 2024 with England.<\/p>\n<p>Sources have told\u00a0<em>90min<\/em>\u00a0that United are admirers of Toney and believe he would bring experience and leadership to their dressing room if they were to pursue a deal \u2013 they like his confidence that borders on swagger, while they are also impressed with his standing in Brentford\u2019s captaincy group.<\/p>\n<p>United have made signing a new centre-forward to support and compete with Rasmus Hojlund a priority for the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n<p>While RB Leipzig\u2019s Benjamin Sesko \u2013 whose contract contains a \u00a343m release clause \u2013 is currently\u00a0higher on United\u2019s shortlist\u00a0than Toney, there is an acceptance that they would face significantly more competition for the Slovenian starlet, and the Brentford striker could yet become a more tempting option if the fee Brentford demand for him drops.<\/p>\n<p><em>90min<\/em>\u00a0understands Toney won\u2019t come as cheap at the \u00a330m some reports have suggested, but also won\u2019t cost the \u00a3100m that Brentford head coach Thomas Frank publicly hinted he\u2019s worth and the final fee will be somewhere in the middle. Brentford won\u2019t be easy to negotiate with but given Toney\u2019s age and contract length, agreeing a fee that is within United\u2019s summer budget might be possible.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/01hw7ef5bxdhsr0nhqdv.jpg\" alt=\"Ivan Toney, Thomas Frank\" title=\"Ivan Toney, Thomas Frank\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Frank has admitted Toney could leave \/ James Gill \u2013 Danehouse\/GettyImages<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p>Chelsea have also been linked with Toney, but sources have told\u00a0<em>90min<\/em>\u00a0they are not prioritising a move for him at this time and instead are targeting a younger profile of striker.<\/p>\n<p>Across London, Arsenal believe Toney fits the mould of forward they want to bring in this summer, but they are considering several other targets, with Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Evan Ferguson all higher on their wish-list.<\/p>\n<p>Toney\u2019s wage demands are believed to be in the region of \u00a3250,000-a-week, which is another reason why he is not expected to be a top target for Arsenal.\u00a0United, however, could choose to meet those contract demands \u2013 which would total \u00a352m if handed a four-year deal, potentially taking any outlay spent on Toney to over \u00a3100m all-in.<\/p>\n<p>Since returning from an eight-month ban for breaches of betting regulations, Toney has contributed four goals and one assist in 13 matches for\u00a0Brentford, while he also scored his first goal for England in a 2-2 draw with Belgium during the March international window.<\/p>\n<p><!-- AI CONTENT END 1 --><\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Man Utd eye Ivan Toney Manchester United are interested in Brentford\u2019s Ivan Toney in their search for a new striker this summer,\u00a090min\u00a0understands.
