{"id":153715,"date":"2024-02-20T12:10:22","date_gmt":"2024-02-20T12:10:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/02\/20\/amakye-dede-commends-sarkodie-stonebwoy\/"},"modified":"2024-02-20T12:10:22","modified_gmt":"2024-02-20T12:10:22","slug":"amakye-dede-commends-sarkodie-stonebwoy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/02\/20\/amakye-dede-commends-sarkodie-stonebwoy\/","title":{"rendered":"Amakye Dede Commends Sarkodie, Stonebwoy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Amakye Dede<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Famous Ghanaian highlife musician, Abrantie Amakye Dede, has disclosed that hip hop act Sarkodie and well-known Afro-dancehall performer Stonebwoy, will elevate Ghanaian music to new heights.<\/p>\n<p>He claims that the aforementioned performers stand out among their contemporaries because they write thoughtful and environmentally conscious music.<\/p>\n<p>Amakye Dede, who has spent more than 40 years in the music business, praised Stonebwoy and Sarkodie for currently holding the top spots in the music industry.<\/p>\n<p>He said he listens to these two performers and their material, in an interview with <strong><em>Prekese Radio<\/em><\/strong>, calling it timeless and stressing that it will entertain people long after they are gone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think Stonebwoy and Sarkodie are talented people who will succeed,\u201d he pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>According to the highlife artiste, his daughter Jenessa Amakye Dede, who is based in the UK, is into music business and will eventually rise to the top.<\/p>\n<p>As one of the most talented acts Ghana has ever produced, Amakye Dede is a national treasure who has made enormous contributions to the development of the music sector.<\/p>\n<p>He captured the hearts of many music enthusiasts in Ghana when he first entered the country\u2019s music scene more than forty years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Abrantie, who is well-known for his distinctive stage presence, has shared the stage with many prominent performers on both domestic and international music stages.<\/p>\n<p>Having achieved amazing successes in the local music industry, Amakye Dede is credited with a number of songs such as \u2018Brebrebe Yi\u2019, \u2018Mensuro\u2019, \u2018Mabre\u2019, \u2018Broken Promises\u2019, \u2018Sokoo Na Mmaa Pe\u2019, \u2018To Be A Man Na War\u2019, \u2018Iron Boy\u2019, among others.<\/p>\n<p>He has over 30 albums to his credit and has experimented with many genres; soca, calypso, lovers rock, and pop music.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By George Clifford Owusu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- AI CONTENT END 2 -->\n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amakye Dede \u00a0 Famous Ghanaian highlife musician, Abrantie Amakye Dede, has disclosed that hip hop act Sarkodie and well-known Afro-dancehall performer Stonebwoy, will elevate Ghanaian music to new heights.
