{"id":145815,"date":"2024-01-31T12:37:16","date_gmt":"2024-01-31T12:37:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/31\/ion-motors-enters-ghanaian-market\/"},"modified":"2024-01-31T12:37:16","modified_gmt":"2024-01-31T12:37:16","slug":"ion-motors-enters-ghanaian-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/31\/ion-motors-enters-ghanaian-market\/","title":{"rendered":"ION Motors Enters Ghanaian Market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Grenadier 4X4 on display<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Japan Motors Trading Company Limited (JMTC), a retail partner for INEOS Grenadier has launched its ION Motors Grenadier operations in Ghana following the inauguration of it showroom at the Silver Star Tower, Accra.<\/p>\n<p>It also outdoored its new vehicle, The Grenadier 4\u00d74 made of British designs and German engineering and built for Africa with a powerful BMW engine and 8-speed gearbox with Recaro seats and a contemporary high-quality interior.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the launch, the Regional Manager-Africa, INEOS Automotive Ltd, Gilles Masier, indicated that the CEO of INEOS, Jim Ratcliffe, manufactured the Grenadier 4\u00d74 out of his passion for free time riding off-road with motorbikes and driving 4\u00d74s in remote areas around the globe, especially in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd over the years he realized that while automated manufacturers launch many SUV models there are very few pure 4\u00d74 that he can take on a safari or over landing journey so he decided to make his own 4\u00d74 Grenadier,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Gilles Masier further indicated that the vehicle\u2019s manufacturing was in partnership with the best suppliers of the industry including Magna Steyr, BMW, ZF, Carraro, and Tremech, and also acquired a manufacturing facility from Mercedes Benz, located in the French\/German.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the INEOS Groups have invested over 1.5 billion, saying,\u201d We are here for the long run. We are developing several other products including a Double Cab Pick-Up which will be coming to Ghana next quarter and an electric 4\u00d74 which will go into production in 2026\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Group Executive Director of Japan Motors, Nouhad Kalmoni indicated that since announcing their partnership with INEOS Groups under the name ION Motors, they are excited to first introduce the Grenadier in West Africa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cINEOS Grenadier is not just any vehicle but a symbol of durability, innovation, and excellence that embodies the spirit of adventure and uncompromising performance that exceeds and surpasses expectations\u201d he underscored.<\/p>\n<p>UK-Ghana Trade Envoy, Baroness Kate Hoey said the two nations have over the years had successful trading relations, emphasizing on the fact that, \u201c We want to see more and more exports from Ghana to the United Kingdom and more imports from the United Kingdom to Ghana.
