{"id":143588,"date":"2024-01-25T21:52:40","date_gmt":"2024-01-25T21:52:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/25\/itd-be-unfair-not-to-thank-wike-fubara-after-scourt-victory\/"},"modified":"2024-01-25T21:52:40","modified_gmt":"2024-01-25T21:52:40","slug":"itd-be-unfair-not-to-thank-wike-fubara-after-scourt-victory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/25\/itd-be-unfair-not-to-thank-wike-fubara-after-scourt-victory\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018It\u2019d Be Unfair Not To Thank Wike\u2019 \u2014 Fubara After S&#8217;Court Victory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-903371\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/1702665660_100_fubara.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1536\" height=\"933\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, has acknowledged the efforts of his predecessor, Nyesom Wike after the Supreme Court upheld his election as the State\u2019s number one citizen on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>A five-member panel of the apex court led by Ibrahim Saulawa dismissed the appeal by Tonye Cole, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the 2023 elections, challenging Fubara\u2019s election as lacking merit.<\/p>\n<p>The Court further held that the appellants (Cole and the APC) failed to prove the issues bordering on non-compliance with the 2022 Electoral Act in seeking the nullification of Fubara\u2019s election.<\/p>\n<p>Fubara, via his media aide, Boniface Onyedi, however thanked God for the victory shortly after the apex court delivered the judgment.<\/p>\n<p>The Governor also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his \u201cfatherly role in every issue that concerns our state, not just the crisis but also this particular litigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that it \u201cwould be unfair\u201d for him \u201cnot to appreciate\u201d Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, who he described as \u201cOga\u201d (boss).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbout an hour ago, the supreme court revalidated our mandate in the election. It is a victory for the entire state,\u201d Fubara said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ ALSO: \u201cFubara Sponsoring Kidnappings In Abuja To Discredit Wike\u201d \u2013 Rivers Local Govt Chairman Alleges<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is important for us to note that we need this victory to consolidate the purpose of governance. Prior, we have had a few distractions here and there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the good news that came to us this morning is a refreshing strength that will encourage us to continue the good works in governance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, his goal is to develop Rivers to be economically viable and competitive like Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a dream of making it a highly competitive state that will measure, if not up to Lagos but close to becoming like Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can only achieve this in an atmosphere of peace.
