{"id":142756,"date":"2024-01-24T11:34:15","date_gmt":"2024-01-24T11:34:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/24\/i-respect-otumfuo-i-cant-insult-him\/"},"modified":"2024-01-24T11:34:15","modified_gmt":"2024-01-24T11:34:15","slug":"i-respect-otumfuo-i-cant-insult-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/24\/i-respect-otumfuo-i-cant-insult-him\/","title":{"rendered":"I respect Otumfuo, I can&#8217;t insult him"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), has refuted claims of insulting the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the Asante Kingdom during the vetting of NPP parliamentary aspirants in the region.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chairman Wontumi is reported to have made some disgusting comments about the Asantehene. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Nana Kwaku Duah, Chief of Kokoso and the Otumfuo\u2019s Obremponhene, as well as Manhyia South NPP Constituency Chairman Ofori Attah Tom-Tom, are alleged to have lodged the official complaint to the Kumasi Traditional Council.<\/p>\n<p>But speaking on Wontumi Radio, Chairman Wontumi described the allegations against him as false.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have a lot of respect for the Asantehene and the Asante Kingdom and will never do anything to run this kingdom down, never. All these allegations are not true; they are pure lies. I cannot do that.
