{"id":141194,"date":"2024-01-19T19:50:54","date_gmt":"2024-01-19T19:50:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/19\/i-wanted-to-die-in-the-kitchen-tearful-chef-faila-talks-about-her-cook-a-thon-journey\/"},"modified":"2024-01-19T19:50:54","modified_gmt":"2024-01-19T19:50:54","slug":"i-wanted-to-die-in-the-kitchen-tearful-chef-faila-talks-about-her-cook-a-thon-journey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/19\/i-wanted-to-die-in-the-kitchen-tearful-chef-faila-talks-about-her-cook-a-thon-journey\/","title":{"rendered":"I wanted to die in the kitchen- Tearful Chef Faila talks about her cook-a-thon journey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Chef Faila has opened up about how hard things were for her throughout her attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-114\" data-inserter-version=\"2\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Chef Faila is on the path to making history after she staged a cooking marathon at the City Hotel in Tamale, Northern Region of Ghana, where she cooked continuously for 227 hours in a bid to get her name in the Guinness World Records book.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-901\" data-method=\"placement-service\"\/><span class=\"ezoic-autoinsert-video ezoic-under_first_paragraph\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Her attempt drew massive recognition from a large crowd of thousands of Ghanaian citizens in her native town, Tamale, as well as celebrities and dignitaries traveling from different regions of the country to throw their support behind her.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-909\" data-method=\"placement-service\"\/><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-122\" data-inserter-version=\"2\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Initially, Chef Faila, in her application, requested to cook for 120 hours only but during her attempt, she ended up cooking for a record 227 hours nonstop.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview, she was asked why she decided to add the extra hours to her cooking marathon when she intended to do only 120 hours. At this point, Faila broke into tears before revealing that the motivation behind her extra hours was because she wanted to do it for the girls from the Northern region, who are often looked down upon.<\/p>\n<p>She continued that the extra hours were also a dedication to those who stood by her and supported her even in her lowest times when she visited their offices for help.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-910\" data-method=\"placement-service\"\/><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-123\" data-inserter-version=\"2\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll the other hours in addition to the 120 hours, it was for my loved ones, it was for the people who supported me in my lowest. wonderful people who saw me in my lowest when I went into their offices, I tell them I am not looking for money to buy clothes, I am looking out for the kind of family I didn\u2019t,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>In the same interview, Faila stated in tears that she has been looking for an opportunity to write a history of his family to change the story of how people see her family.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-911\" data-method=\"placement-service\"\/><span class=\"ezoic-autoinsert-video ezoic-under_second_paragraph\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am looking for an opportunity to have a history in my family to change the story about my family, about the North, about the vilification we young girls from this side of the country have gone through.\u201d she added<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-124\" data-inserter-version=\"2\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, just days ago, The Guinness World Record confirmed receipt of evidence submitted by Chef Fail and will take their time to review it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chef Faila has opened up about how hard things were for her throughout her attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
