According to new Ghana music sensation Safo Newman, his music journey started in 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n It was \u201cwhen I released a song for Bureau of Ghana Languages (BGL),\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n Revealing it was a song titled Brofo (English), Newman said he did the song for \u201cpatriotism\u201d sake, and approached BGL with it.<\/p>\n He noted BGL is \u201cresponsible for promoting our culture \u2013 the language aspect\u201d.<\/p>\n Brofo, he explained, decries \u201chow we cherish the English language above the local dialects\u201d and how \u201cwe are losing how fluent we are in our countries dialects\u201d.<\/p>\n He cited how it is common for Ghanaians to \u201cintersperse\u201d conversations in local languages with English due to a lack of command of indigenous languages.<\/p>\n Singer-songwriter Safo Newman noted that when he created Brofo and gave it to the BGL, he \u201cwas doing everything alone,\u201d and without a team.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen they accepted it [Brofo], I became excited and did another one for National Commission on Culture, that is [the song] Made in Ghana,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n
