According to reports, some Ghanaian fans whom the government took to the Ivory Coast for the 2023 AFCON received $400 as compensation for threatening to return home.<\/p>\n

Yesterday after the story broke, around midnight, in fact, most of us here went to sleep before the officials came and they came to call us and they gave us what we were due,\u201d the journalist is quoted as saying by Citi Sports.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cI am not aware but what I do know from some of the dwellers [from other hotels] is that they also received $400 as those at the hotel [I am] received.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cFor the entire tournament officials were unable to tell us, so we don\u2019t know if this [$400] is going to be for the entire tournament.\u201d<\/p>\n The Black Stars lost to Cape Verde in their first game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) last Sunday, which was disappointing.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Black Stars didn\u2019t play very well, and Jamiro Monteiro\u2019s rebound put them behind after only 17 minutes.<\/p>\n The second half saw Ghana get back on track with a header from Alexandre Djiku. For a moment, it looked like it could be their night.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Late in the game, though, Cape Verde shocked them. Garry Rodrigues scored the game-winner by taking advantage of a mistake by the defence.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Hughton and his team have only won one of their last six games.
