He made five saves including a stunner in the closing moments to ensure Rodri\u2019s 68th-minute effort was enough for victory.<\/p>\n<p>Ederson claimed the trophy for the first time in his career, having previously finished third back in 2019. Somewhat strangely, it was Thibaut Courtois who was instead named in the\u00a02023 FIFA FIFPRO Men\u2019s World XI.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/01hm7f0695k5ks26pef8.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Ederson\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Ederson was brilliant in the Champions League final victory against Inter \/ Shaun Botterill\/GettyImages<\/p>\n<p>Real Madrid star Courtois was shortlisted for the award alongside Al Hilal and Morocco keeper Yassine Bounou.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the awards ceremony in London, Ederson said: \u201cThanks to my family. My wife and my children. They are very important to me. Thank you to the players.
