{"id":137992,"date":"2024-01-12T03:41:04","date_gmt":"2024-01-12T03:41:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/12\/ruto-last-mile-road-connectivity-to-link-kenyans-to-more-opportunities\/"},"modified":"2024-01-12T03:41:04","modified_gmt":"2024-01-12T03:41:04","slug":"ruto-last-mile-road-connectivity-to-link-kenyans-to-more-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/12\/ruto-last-mile-road-connectivity-to-link-kenyans-to-more-opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":"Ruto: Last Mile Road Connectivity to Link Kenyans to More Opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-305568\" alt=\"\" width=\"902\" height=\"576\"  data-lazy- src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/ruto-1.jpg\"\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-305568\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/ruto-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"902\" height=\"576\"  \/>By the Presidential Communication Service<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Government will intensify its focus on the last mile road connectivity to boost access to resources and services.<\/p>\n<p>President William Ruto said more funds will be put in the upgrading of roads in a move that will also spur trade at the grassroots.<\/p>\n<p>He said better roads will guarantee farmers, especially of fresh produce, better income.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we trade more it means more employment opportunities for our youth,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>The President spoke on Thursday in Boiman in Ol Joro Orok where he launched the tarmacking of the Boiman \u2013 Kwa Mumbi roads.<\/p>\n<p>He said the 44-Kilometre stretch is a lifeline to the milk, vegetables and potatoes farmers in the County as it connects them to better markets.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the last mile connectivity that Kenya Rural Roads Authority is driving will ensure that no part of the country is left behind.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith better roads, Kenyans will easily access resources, crucial services and opportunities.\u201d<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-305569\" alt=\"\" width=\"770\" height=\"512\"  data-lazy- src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/road.jpg\"\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-305569\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/road.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"770\" height=\"512\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The President said other ongoing works in the county include the 55-Kilometre Captain Ndemi \u2013 Ndunyu Njeru, 41-Kilometre Engineer \u2013 Gathera, 45-Kilometre Maili Kumi \u2013 Shameta, 55-Kilometre Shamata \u2013 Uruku, 23-Kilometre Gilgil \u2013 Machinery and the 28-Kilometre Tumaini -Kabazi roads.<\/p>\n<p>Those that have been earmarked for rehabilitation, he added, are the 14-Kilometre Nyahururu \u2013 Boiman, 14-Kilometre Maili Nne \u2013 Maili Kumi and the 8-Kilometre Kirasha \u2013 Sulmac roads.<\/p>\n<p>Present were Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, Governor of Nyandarua County Moses Badilisha, MPs and MCAs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By the Presidential Communication Service The Government will intensify its focus on the last mile road connectivity to boost access to resources and services.
