{"id":137944,"date":"2024-01-11T19:23:47","date_gmt":"2024-01-11T19:23:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/11\/dont-conclude-hurriedly-case-against-edu-still-an-allegation-uzodimma-to-nigerians\/"},"modified":"2024-01-11T19:23:47","modified_gmt":"2024-01-11T19:23:47","slug":"dont-conclude-hurriedly-case-against-edu-still-an-allegation-uzodimma-to-nigerians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/11\/dont-conclude-hurriedly-case-against-edu-still-an-allegation-uzodimma-to-nigerians\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Don&#8217;t Conclude Hurriedly, Case Against Edu Still An Allegation&#8217; \u2014 Uzodimma To Nigerians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-880820\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Uzodinma-Hope.webp.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"380\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, says the case against the embattled Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, is just an allegation.<\/p>\n<p>Uzodinma spoke at the end of the meeting of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) which held at Imo State government house in Asokoro district, Abuja on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Edu has been under fire after a memo surfaced wherein she asked Oluwatoyin Madein, Accountant-General of the Federation, to transfer N585 million to a private account.<\/p>\n<p>Following the public outrage, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu suspended her from office and directed a probe of all the Ministry\u2019s financial transactions.<\/p>\n<p>The suspended Minister however visited the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for grilling on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting, the PGF Chairman said the only perfect being \u201cwe have observed is God.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe functions of government include encouraging good things and good appointees, and discouraging bad things and bad appointees, the case against Edu is just an allegation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ ALSO: Humanitarian Ministry: Our CEO Wasn\u2019t Arrested, Detained By EFCC \u2014 Zenith Bank Clarifies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd in the wisdom of the President, she is being investigated, it is after the investigation is concluded and the report made available to government that it will take a final decision,\u201d Uzodinma said.<\/p>\n<p>He said Nigerians should, therefore, not be in a hurry to conclude her case.<\/p>\n<p>Uzodinma also assured the implementation of the policies of the Tinubu-led administration at the grassroots.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the Governors are determined to ensure security in the country and provide better welfare for Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have agreed on how best to support our party, President Bola Tinubu and his government and get his policies down to the grassroots.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe agreed on how to support the president with a view to maximising the benefits of his policies, we are united in ensuring that we take his policies to the grassroots,\u201d he added, according to News Agency of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>On the forthcoming off-cycle elections in Ondo and Edo states, Uzodinma said the APC is prepared.<\/p>\n<p>The governors at the meeting were Hope Uzodinma (Imo), Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Yahaya Inuwa (Gombe), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Lucky Aiyetadiwa (Ondo), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Ahmad Aliyu (Sokoto), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), and Uba Sani (Kaduna).<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\" style=\"margin: 8px auto; text-align: center; display: block; clear: both;\">\n<div data-advadstrackid=\"890536\" data-advadstrackbid=\"1\" class=\"infor-target\" id=\"infor-650716862\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/300x250b.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, says the case against the embattled Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, is just an allegation.
