{"id":137700,"date":"2024-01-10T21:34:07","date_gmt":"2024-01-10T21:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/10\/tunji-ojo-has-not-broken-any-laws-shehu-sani\/"},"modified":"2024-01-10T21:34:07","modified_gmt":"2024-01-10T21:34:07","slug":"tunji-ojo-has-not-broken-any-laws-shehu-sani","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/10\/tunji-ojo-has-not-broken-any-laws-shehu-sani\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Tunji-Ojo Has Not Broken Any Laws&#8221; \u2013 Shehu Sani"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has said that the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has not broken any laws.<\/p>\n<p>This is coming, following the suspension and quizzing of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu over her financial misconduct under her ministry.<\/p>\n<p>However, Tunji Ojo, has suffered a heavy backlash after reports emerged that his company, New Planet Project Ltd, also received a contract from the suspended minister.<\/p>\n<p>It was gathered that Edu had awarded some companies contracts, some of which were unregistered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), raising concerns about fraud and illegality.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview, on Channels TV, yesterday, Tunji-Ojo disclosed that he has retired from the company since 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Sani, in his reaction to the whole saga,\u00a0 with the Whistler, the former lawmaker stressed that: \u201cIt could have been a conflict of interest if he hadn\u2019t resigned from the company.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no law that says public officials must sell all their shares when they assume public office.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0Betta Edu: \u201cI Don\u2019t Want Youths To Lead Nigeria\u201d \u2013 Daddy Freeze (Video)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoing by the facts presented by Hon Ojo (Tunji-Ojo), he had since 2019 resigned from the company that was mentioned as beneficiary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is not his ministry (that awarded contracts), and companies have the right to pursue businesses anywhere.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEdu\u2019s case is very clear and can\u2019t be equated with that of a company associated with Hon Ojo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLegally, he can\u2019t be held to account on this matter,\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\" style=\"margin: 8px auto; text-align: center; display: block; clear: both;\">\n<div data-advadstrackid=\"890536\" data-advadstrackbid=\"1\" class=\"infor-target\" id=\"infor-1566309454\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/300x250b.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has said that the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has not broken any laws.
