{"id":136360,"date":"2024-01-03T16:47:04","date_gmt":"2024-01-03T16:47:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/03\/obaseki-against-gods-plan-my-governorship-ambition-divine-shaibu\/"},"modified":"2024-01-03T16:47:04","modified_gmt":"2024-01-03T16:47:04","slug":"obaseki-against-gods-plan-my-governorship-ambition-divine-shaibu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/03\/obaseki-against-gods-plan-my-governorship-ambition-divine-shaibu\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Obaseki Against God\u2019s Plan, My Governorship Ambition Divine&#8217; \u2014 Shaibu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-902925\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Philip-Shaibu-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"739\" height=\"415\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu has posited that his decision to run for State Governor, is divinely ordained.<\/p>\n<p>Shaibu, however, said despite receiving divine signals to run for the election, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has his own plan.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during an interview on a private broadcast television station in Lagos, Shaibu warned that the Peoples Democratic Party, can only win the governorship election with him on the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore publicly declaring my interest to contest, l had consulted widely with many persons and groups within and outside Edo State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMoreover, l went into prayers to seek guidance and direction from God.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ ALSO: \u201cNo Allocation To My Office For Six Months Over Tension With Obaseki\u201d \u2013 Shaibu Laments<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe signs l received encouraged me to go ahead with my aspiration, though it was obvious the governor has his own plans of supporting another person.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf my party wants to win the election in Edo State, they should give it (ticket) to Philip Shaibu, but if they want to lose, they should give it to somebody else, not because I am a superstar but because I have the content, I have the quality, I have the experience,\u201d Shaibu said.<\/p>\n<p>He also extended an apology to his political mentor and former Governor of the State, Adams Oshiomhole, regarding his past choice of language during their political differences.<\/p>\n<p>Expressing his intention not to repeat such mistakes, he said: \u201cI regret the language I used in our disagreements. The only aspect I apologise for and continue to apologise for to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is the language I used.
