{"id":136137,"date":"2024-01-02T15:11:33","date_gmt":"2024-01-02T15:11:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/02\/passport-application-automation-to-begin-jan-8-tunji-ojo\/"},"modified":"2024-01-02T15:11:33","modified_gmt":"2024-01-02T15:11:33","slug":"passport-application-automation-to-begin-jan-8-tunji-ojo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/01\/02\/passport-application-automation-to-begin-jan-8-tunji-ojo\/","title":{"rendered":"Passport Application Automation To Begin Jan 8 \u2014 Tunji-Ojo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-888912\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Screenshot_20230809-173003_Opera-Mini.jpg\" alt=\"Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo,\" width=\"1080\" height=\"747\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Interior has disclosed that automation of passport application process will commence from January 8, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, made the disclosure on Monday in Abuja during an inspection of facilities of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Nigerians will be able to apply and complete their passport application process online without human contact.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are good to go live,\u201d Tunji-Ojo said during the inspection alongside the Comptroller General (CG) of the Service, Wura-Ola Adepoju.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the automation of passport processing was in line the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ ALSO: \u201cYour Disdain For Nigerians Obvious\u201d \u2013 LP Knocks Tinubu Over 2024 Budget<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are starting the training and on January 8, the solution will be live and direct for Nigerians to have a good feel, a sweet experience based on the Renewed Hope of Mr President.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been able to reduce human contact in passport acquisition to the minimum,\u201d the Minister said, adding that the new initiative will enhance the security architecture of the country as well as the comfort and convenience of Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p>He furthered that the government wants to bring an end to the era of people bringing fake documents for passport application.<\/p>\n<p>The Service, he said, now has document verification officers across all Local Government Areas in the country to scrutinise passport applications.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\" style=\"margin: 8px auto; text-align: center; display: block; clear: both;\">\n<div data-advadstrackid=\"890536\" data-advadstrackbid=\"1\" class=\"infor-target\" id=\"infor-2125668731\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/300x250b.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Interior has disclosed that automation of passport application process will commence from January 8, 2024.
