Renowned activist Barker-Vormawor has stirred another hot controversy with his bold Facebook post, requesting that former President John Dramani Mahama take strong action if re-elected. In a harsh attack of President Akufo-Addo’s recent National Honours prizes, Barker-Vormawor called for the recall of prizes granted to government appointees, describing them as unjustified and symptomatic of systematic corruption.
“Mahama must revoke the awards the thieves gave themselves,” Barker-Vormawor remarked, delivering an unflinching appraisal of the celebration. His post reflects widespread popular resentment at what many see as the politicization of Ghana’s prized national awards.
