In a lengthy statement, Nollywood actor, Frederick Leonard has spoken out after his wife got dragged online for posting Christmas photos without her husband. Recalling different scenarios where the integrity of his marriage was questioned, the actor boldly stated that he won’t stop kissing in movies just because he is married. He emphasized that his wife, who is also an actress is free to live her life as she wants and be happy.
Fred’s wife, Peggy Ovire, a fellow Nollywood actress had taken to social media on Christmas day to share photos of just herself, as opposed to the usual couple photos which the duo have shared for the past two Christmases since they wedded in 2022. Her post drew introspection from people who questioned her decision to snap alone.
Jumping to the defence of his wife barely 48hrs after, Frederick Leonard categorically emphasized that although he loves his wife, they are both ‘different’ people. The actor also defended the ladies who play romantic movie roles with him, calling them ‘innocent’ as he claimed his kissing scenes are professional.
He wrote, “Leave us alone. She can post Christmas photos without me, not wear her ring, go on vacation without me, wear short dresses, it’s none of your business. I won’t stop kissing in movies because I’m married, no professional actor does that so stop trying to indict the innocent ladies acting with me. My wife can live her life and be happy while I do same”
Reacting to her husband’s post, Peggy expressed love for Fred as she wrote, “I love you more than life itself, you are one of the best decisions I have ever made in life and I am proud of you daily”
