Broadcast journalist Afia Pokua, popularly known as Vim Lady, has strongly criticized her colleague, Blessed Godsbarin Smart, widely known as Captain Smart, for his recent comments about renowned businessman Kweku Oteng. Speaking on her “Gyaso Gyaso” program on Okay FM, Vim Lady described Captain Smart’s remarks as disrespectful and ungrateful, asserting that he had crossed a serious line in his criticism of Mr. Oteng.
Captain Smart, during a segment on his Onua TV show, insinuated that Kweku Oteng was involved in questionable activities, including infidelity, suggesting that he was not like Oteng. Vim Lady vehemently disagreed with these allegations, labeling them as unfair and baseless. She reminded Captain Smart of the pivotal role Mr. Oteng had played in his career, pointing out that the businessman had provided him with numerous opportunities and support that significantly contributed to his professional growth.
“Captain Smart, this behaviour is entirely uncalled for,” Vim Lady stated. “You cannot go around tarnishing the reputation of someone who has given you countless opportunities and helped you build your career.” She further recalled how Kweku Oteng had supported Captain Smart during a crucial time in his life, including paying him for two years without expecting any work, while he transitioned from Adom FM to Oteng’s media company.
Vim Lady emphasized that such generosity should be met with gratitude, not public criticism. “Mr. Oteng invested in you and gave you the platform to grow. How many employers would do that? Gratitude is important,” she said. She concluded with a passionate reminder that biting the hand that once fed you would only damage one’s credibility in the long run.
