Afia Pokua, also known as Vim Lady, has publicly expressed her frustration and disappointment with media personality Captain Smart over his recent comments about influential figures, including businessman Dr. Kwaku Oteng and the late John Kumah. Vim Lady, a respected journalist, accused Captain Smart of crossing a line with his insults and unfounded accusations, particularly regarding Dr. Oteng’s past support and the circumstances surrounding Kumah’s death.
Vim Lady began by addressing the long-standing financial support Dr. Kwaku Oteng allegedly provided to Captain Smart, which she says occurred over a period of two years, even during Captain Smart’s time at Adom TV. In her statement, Vim Lady explained that despite not having any direct professional relationship with Dr. Oteng, she felt compelled to defend him due to Captain Smart’s behavior. “Captain Smart is going too far,” Vim Lady remarked. “Dr. Kwaku Oteng is not my boss, but this man has supported you financially before. Even when we were at Adom TV, and you decided to move to Angel TV, Dr. Oteng stood by you. It is unacceptable for you to insult him after all the support.”
The media personality further criticized Captain Smart for making unsubstantiated claims about the death of John Kumah, a former Member of Parliament. Captain Smart had suggested that Kumah had been poisoned in Tamale, and later implied that his wife might have been involved. Vim Lady described these accusations as false and irresponsible, urging Captain Smart to provide concrete evidence to back his claims. “If Captain Smart has proof of his allegations, he should present it. Otherwise, he is just spreading lies,” she stated.
Vim Lady’s comments also pointed to a broader issue with Captain Smart’s behavior, accusing him of using his platform to spread negativity and engage in personal attacks without accountability. She made it clear that such actions would not be tolerated, especially when they involve unfounded allegations and disrespect for individuals who had previously supported him.
“Regardless of your actions, it’s clear that your agenda has not been successful,” Vim Lady concluded, stressing that the truth would eventually come to light, and that people would see through these baseless accusations.
Vim Lady’s strong words have sparked a debate within the media community and among the public, with many agreeing that Captain Smart’s behavior is damaging and should be held accountable. As of now, Captain Smart has not publicly responded to the accusations made by Vim Lady.
