“He Is Tired” Ghanaians React After Police Officer Is Spotted Sleeping at Garu Polling Station

A police officer was caught on camera sleeping at a polling station in the Garu Constituency, stirring mixed reactions online. The incident was shared by TV3 Ghana, drawing a variety of opinions from social media users.

One Ghanaian, Umar Harris, humorously remarked that the scene was the true definition of “inner peace,” while Sammy A Tuga empathized with the officer, saying, “He is tired; it’s not easy.” Another user, Marvin Roland, added, “Someone can only sleep where there’s peace, so let him rest.” Naomi Agyin echoed this sentiment, asking people to allow the officer some respite.

However, not everyone found the post amusing. Obaa Lami questioned TV3 Ghana’s decision to share the image, expressing concern that it could jeopardize the officer’s job. Adira Benz supported this view, urging the broadcaster to reconsider such posts. Similarly, Kwame Dogbe simply stated, “Please allow him,” advocating for understanding.

Nana Yaw Person shared a slightly different perspective, suggesting that the officer might have been napping rather than deeply asleep, attributing the situation to tiredness and boredom. Jennifer Akurugu and Kingsley Thomford also acknowledged the officer’s fatigue, with Jennifer saying, “He’s tired,” and Kingsley concurring, “He is tired.”

Adam Awal, on the other hand, took a lighter approach, commenting on TV3 Ghana’s consistent updates by saying, “We’re not missing anything today.” These varied responses highlight the public’s mix of humor, empathy, and concern about the situation.

The incident, while seemingly minor, has sparked a broader discussion about the challenges faced by law enforcement personnel during long hours of election duty. Many viewers expressed the need to appreciate the efforts of these officers while also considering the ethical implications of publicizing such moments.
