Human rights advocate and lawyer Maurice Ampaw has strongly criticized popular Kumawood actor Sean Paul for his ongoing attacks on Prophet Adom Kyei Duah. Appearing on Wontumi TV’s Mmra Ne Abrabo Mu Nsem show, Ampaw warned the actor to cease his attacks or face legal consequences.
According to Adomonline, Ampaw condemned Sean Paul’s comments, calling them a direct assault on Christianity, and urged him to stop undermining religious unity in Ghana. He warned the actor, “Stop the nonsense and attacks on Philadelphia. You will go to jail,” adding that such behavior was unacceptable and divisive.
The legal expert also highlighted the importance of religious tolerance in Ghana, stressing the country’s history of peaceful coexistence among various faiths. “The Chief Imam is a unifier, who allows pastors to pray for him. There is religious tolerance in Ghana, and we have been living harmoniously with our Muslim brothers and sisters,” Ampaw stated. He pointed out that even in Zongo communities, many Muslims enjoy gospel music and respect Jesus Christ.
Ampaw expressed disbelief over Sean Paul’s actions, calling them unnecessary and harmful. He urged the actor to embrace the values of unity and mutual respect that define Ghana’s religious diversity. “This is not the time for creating division,” Ampaw emphasized, stressing the importance of showing respect to all faiths.
The lawyer concluded by advising Sean Paul to end his insults and attacks on religious figures, promoting a message of respect and harmony for all Ghanaians.
