Ghanaians have reacted strongly to a viral video showing Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, commonly known as Wontumi, parading bars of gold, with many expressing disappointment and frustration over the spectacle.
The video, which shows the NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman proudly showcasing the gold in what many consider an extravagant display, has ignited heated debates across social media.
In response to the video, prominent political figures, including NDC’s Joyce Bawah Mogtari, have called out the display as emblematic of the misplaced priorities of those in power. Joyce posted on X, urging voters to “vote wisely” in the upcoming elections, referring to the show of wealth as an example of the “nincompoops” in Jubilee House.
Ghanaians from all walks of life have echoed similar sentiments, voicing their dissatisfaction with the government’s leadership and the need for change. Many are now pledging to vote responsibly in the 2024 elections, with calls for leaders who truly prioritize the welfare of the people over personal extravagance.
