Luis late show
Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez inspired a thrilling Inter Miami comeback in a Champions Cup last-16 clash with Nashville.
The hosts led 2-0 thanks to Jacob Shaffelburg’s double but Messi scored after 52 minutes and his strike partner was teed-up by Sergio Busquets to grab an injury-time leveller.
Miami welcome Montreal to Florida on Sunday before taking on Nashville in the reverse fixture three days later.

Carles Gil has re-signed with New England Revolution and put pen to paper on a deal that runs through the 2026 season with an option for 2027.
The 31-year-old playmaker captains the Revs and enjoyed a superb 2023 Major League Soccer campaign, bagging 11 goals and registering eight assists in 34 appearances.
Ex-Aston Villa ace Gil said: “I have so much more to give to this club and the supporters, who give me all their backing and confidence.”
Forget about Dre
DeAndre Yedlin’s time with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami has come to an end after being traded to FC Cincinnati.
The Herons have offloaded their former captain for roughly £136,000 in General Allocation Money, which can be used to help them comply with Major League Soccer salary cap regulations.
Former Newcastle right-back Yedlin, 30, signed a three-year deal with Miami in February 2022 but will now represent his third MLS club, having started his senior career with Seattle Sounders.
Stars align
This year’s Major League Soccer All-Star Game will see the best players from the division take on a team of All-Stars from Mexico’s Liga MX.
The annual exhibition fixture will take place on July 24 at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio.
MLS executive vice president of properties and events said: “We’re excited to host Liga MX at the 2024 MLS All-Star Game, showcasing the global and rising stars of our leagues and the strength of our sport in North America.”
Double trouble
Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez bagged braces as Inter Miami thrashed Orlando City 5-0 on Saturday night.
Suarez scored twice inside the opening 11 minutes while Messi added a second-half double following Robert Taylor’s strike for the hosts.
Recent signing Suarez, 37, said: “He [Messi] knows everything about me and I think we will continue to do so. I try my best every time I’m out on the pitch. Today we did a really good job and I hope the Miami fans are happy.”
Snow joke
Los Angeles FC boss Steve Cherundolo slammed the conditions at America First Field as his side went down 3-0 to Real Salt Lake in Utah.
After the game went ahead under heavy snowfall, the LAFC manager said: “It was impossible conditions. I feel terrible for the players that we put them through this.
“It was an absolute joke we had to play today. It was one of the worst professional sporting events I’ve ever seen in my life. The game could have and should have been called [off]. It was an absolute disgrace.”LiveScore: Live Sport Updates
