Davido Speaks For The First Time After Losing 3 Grammy Nominations

Nigerian musician, Davido has spoken for the first time after he won zero out of three Grammy Award nominations.

Davido was nominated for Best Global Performance with his “Feel” song, Best Global Album with his  “Timeless” album, and Best African Performance with his “Unavailable” song.

Sadly, Davido lost all three Grammy Awards nominations.

Davido lost two of the Grammy Awards nominations to Indian musicians and lost the Best African Performance award to Tyla of South Africa.

Well, the Nigerian superstar has for the first time spoken after his loss.

Davido in a Twitter post sighted by Ghbase.com has said that he is trying to feel all right even after he has lost all his Grammy awards nominations.

He added that even though he did not win any awards, he still will continue to release good songs for his staunch followers.

In another tweet too, the popular musician heaped praises on South Africa’s Tyra for winning her first Grammy Award.

He wrote, “I just want you to feel alright. I love every one of you !! We Dey game!! We will continue to deliver.”

Meanwhile, Davido is not the only Nigerian musician who lost in the recently held 66th Grammy Awards.

His colleagues, Burna Boy, Asake, and Ayra Starr also lost in their categories as well.

 The 66th Grammy Awards came off on 3rd February 2024 in California, Los Angeles.

Nigerian musician- Davido, South African Amapiano star- Musa Keys, British-Ghanaian record producer Juls, and many others were announced as personalities who were to attend the event.

Also, Ghanaian rapper- Gambo, music producer- Juls, EMY’s founder- Kojo Soboh, and many other top-notch Ghanaians were announced as special guests for the event.

The talents up for honors on February 5, 2024, include African musicians Burna Boy, Davido, and Ayra Starr of Nigeria and Tyla of South Africa.

For Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best Global Album, Best Global Performance, and Best African Performance, Burna Boy received four nominations. Davido, another Nigerian singer, received three nominations.

As part of a broader set of updates and amendments intended to make the awards process “more fair, transparent, and accurate,” Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. announced that Asake, Olamide, Ayra Starr, and Tyla received their first nominations in the Best African Performance category at the same time.
